Paul Sygrove

Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer

Paul Sygrove serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Swig Equities with his primary role to identify and evaluate acquisition investment opportunities for the firm and its partners including the responsibility of fundraising, structuring joint ventures, and all debt and equity requirements. Mr. Sygrove works closely with Mr. Swig and the executive team to formulate strategy for Swig Equities, as well as its related companies Helmsley Spear and Falcon Pacific Construction to expand their platforms as a leader in the acquisition, development, construction, and operations of commercial and residential properties throughout the New York tri-state area.

Mr. Sygrove has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of the real estate industry including asset management, business development, building management and operations, commercial leasing, investment sales and dispositions, real estate advisory financial services, fundraising, institutional private placement, and investment banking.

Prior to rejoining Swig Equities Mr. Sygrove was a principal at ADG Development, a private opportunistic value-add real estate development company with investments in both the United States and Europe.

He also founded SAS, an advisory firm providing services to owners and managers of distressed assets, including loan renegotiations, loan modifications and recapitalizations for assets when required. SAS assisted clients in obtaining loan modifications and /or discounted payoffs (DPO) in order to best optimize the unique short-term goals of an asset.

Mr. Sygrove served as Managing Director at L&L Holding Company where his responsibilities included seeking investment opportunities and assisting in the growth of new business ventures including debt and equity sourcing. L&L Holding Company is a premier operator of 6 million square feet of Class A commercial properties strategically located throughout New York City.

Mr. Sygrove was Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Swig Equities from 2002- 2010 where his responsibilities included identifying and evaluating development and acquisition opportunities for the firm, providing financial structuring, arranging and negotiation of all financing requirements, and JV partnerships. Under Mr. Sygrove’s direction, Swig Equities purchased $3 billion of properties totaling 4 million square feet of commercial office buildings and several residential buildings comprising more than 1,200 apartments.

Mr. Sygrove also served as Executive Vice President of Business Development for Helmsley Spear. In this capacity, he developed and implemented formal strategic alliances, partnerships, and new business between Helmsley Spear and other financial service firms.

Previous affiliations include Furman Selz Corporation, a boutique investment bank in New York City, where Mr. Sygrove served as Managing Director / Vice President. At Furman Selz, he established and managed the firm’s practice in real estate of investment banking, commercial mortgages, and the financial restructuring of debt and equity positions and private placements. He served at The Galbreath Company as Managing Director and as a Director at Williams Real Estate Company where he was involved in asset management and promotional brokerage on behalf of institutional investors. Mr. Sygrove started his real estate career at Helmsley Spear where he rose to serve as Vice President.

Prior to entering the real estate industry, Mr. Sygrove worked in the hospitality industry for such notable hotel chains as Hyatt, Loew, and TrustHouse Forte.

Mr. Sygrove graduated from New York University Real Estate Institute and also earned a degree in Business Administration and Hotel Management from Thomas Danby College, Leeds University in West Yorkshire, England. He has been actively involved in many organizations such as the Real Estate Board of New York; Urban Land Institute and the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA).
